What is The Alpha Marriage Course Small Group? 

The Marriage Course is a series of 7 weekly sessions, designed to help couples invest in their relationship and build a strong marriage. The course offers practical support and is designed to help couples build strong foundations, learn to communicate more effectively and resolve differences well. Plan to set aside 2 hours for this small group each week to learn, grow, and have some fun with your spouse.

What is the format?

Each week will begin with a welcome from your group leader followed by watching the video as a group, with various stopping points throughout the video for you and your spouse to privately talk through the discussion points presented in the video. Your group leader will then close out and dismiss the session. Your group leader is simply hosting and facilitating this environment and will not be involved in your private discussions with your spouse.

3 STEPS

  1. Sign up for your Group - Depending on Small Group leader availability and time of year, we have various time and day options for you to choose from.

  2. Get the Journal - Each person will need one. Whichever option you choose, make sure that you also have a pen to write in your journal.

  3. Videos - If attending an in-person group, the videos will be watched as a group and couples will break off for various conversations. If attending a virtual group, you will need internet access and the ability to watch the videos, as well as Zoom downloaded to join the group online each week. Your small group leader will share the video links with you, as well as the Zoom meeting link.

    1. Submit this form and watch for email approval of your small group. This ensures that your small group will be listed on the Citizen Church website for Citizen Church attendees to find and sign up for.

    1. We will send you resources to complete your training and to prepare to lead your group. You will have about 1 hour of preparation as a leader before your group begins for the semester.
